You guessed it. BTW My dad worked for GE Medical Systems for about 40 years. He worked at 43rd and Lincoln and in Waukesha.

I work on Electric Ave which would be considered 43rd and Lincoln I guess.

I was just at Roma Lodge for the HOG party....small world.

You know that round about on Sunny Slope...I live down the street from that piece of crap...lol

Did you see the January issue of BYO, they had a guy from Racine in there showing off his brew rig.

I work for the feds. I'm a soil scientist and GIS specialist for the US Dept of Agriculture. I work mostly in the Soil Survey program maintaining and updating soil maps, mostly in Michigan but my office also covers parts of Indiana and Illinois.

For the yooperbrew: I worked in Alger, Delta, and Schoolcraft counties before moving below the bridge.

The short version I usually tell people, is I dig holes and make maps.

My hobbies include: biking, reading, gardening, hiking, camping, fishing, geocaching, and following Michigan State sports.

I'm working on a Ph.D in Theology. When not theologizing or brewing, I cook (don't we all?), play guitar reasonably seriously and obsess about UNC basketball or Orioles baseball.

I work at a community college, some IT stuff, some customer service...mostly dealing with transcript issues. its decent.

I have just recently got into brewing. I love to fish. I also make electronic on my computer and sampler, and I am very into that.

I drive truck for a uniform and Linen Service, I supply clean linen and uniforms to our 2 branches in Clare and Novi and bring back the dirty stuff to our main plant.

Hopefully you're off today...The roads were pretty nasty when I came into Detroit this morning.

I saw that, but didn't look to see where he was from. I live in the subdivision just east of Roma off of Sunny Slope. We're almost neighbors. :)

Ya I work sunday through Thursday and on the night shift, So I had to drive through it last night when it first hit, People kissing the ditch everywhere, Damn You Gotta love Michigan.

I am Fire Marshal for a Maryland municipality.

It is my job to ensure that (tenants/owners/contractors/builders) comply with the fire code in ways that no other (city/county/state/country/planet) fire code has required in the last (5/10/20/30/ever) years.

For hobbies, I make beer. I also drink beer. I read books, usually about beer.

Wastewater plant operator. I run equipment, controls, tests, plant process and take samples. I'm also dabbling in computer automated controls. The old timers put that "automation crap that never works" on us younger guys.

My hobbies other than being new to brewing are shooting (sometimes hunting, but that's more like an excuse to go shooting), camping, canoing, fishing, gardening and WoW.

Don't forget your important work as a couch activist! Lol(couldn't help it):p

I just finished my PhD in Molecular Biology, I won't bore you with what I studied, but I am a postdoctoral fellow in the same lab that I did my thesis work in for the short-term. I am looking for a research scientist job in biotech/pharma, but it has not been as easy as I thought it would be. I still don't know what I want to do when I grow up though...

In my free time, I obviously brew, I also telemark ski and snowboard, road and mountain bike, run (did a marathon this past summer and am toying with the idea of an Olympic distance triathlon this coming season), hike and snowshoe with my dog, read a fair bit, love to cook, and drink beer.

Wow, I am seeing a trend here, three categories:

1) IT/Computer Programmers
2) Medical/Biological professionals
3) everyone else ;)

We could just keep it simple from now on and put 1,2,3 in our titles;)

I recently left my job as Facilities Manager at Vulcan Inc. in Seattle to start up a small brewery in the area. We are trying to nail down a location. In the meantime, I've been working as an assistant brewer at Stix Pizza & Brewing Co. and as a cellarman and jack of all trades at Lazy Boy Brewing in Everett WA. My business partner and I hope to have Naked City Brewing open by the Fall of this year.

I didn't know you finished, congrats:mug:

A Fire Code Monkeys UNITE! haha....

My title is "Customer Service Specialist". I work for a winery in their main offices. It's a small company though, 4 of in the office. 3 sales guys that live and work elsewhere. This allows for me working in pretty much every department. But my main responsibilities are processing wholesaler orders, Invoicing, bill backs, cash reciepts etc.

Today was fine. We did a bench mark tasting of 7 Reislings including our Sweet Riesling. Such a tough job.

Hobbies...Kilts (wearing and sewing), watching SWMBO run marathons, my two pugs.

I worked as a meatcutter for almost 20 years in various grocery stores. Then, when I was out of my mind and just about ready to go postal on every snotty little old lady that came into the store, I finally chucked it and took an electrical apprenticeship. So now I have journeyman status in two different and totally unrelated trades. I like my new line of work much better, but it has it's days, too (like today:( ).

Hobbies? Well, I hold a private pilot's license, but it's nowhere near current. A bad year health-wise put that one in dry-dock a couple years ago. I hunt and fish when I have the time, Go camping when I can, too. In the summertime SWMBO and I play cabbie, chaeuffering our two future major-leaguers to their Little League games.

Well, I was going to post here and talk about my job, but everyone was rif'd today. They let absolutely everyone go, except the president, vp of sales, and another manager. So unfortunately I'm now unemployed. This is the first time I have been let go in any position I had. I worked in a sales position, and of course I had my best month ever last month. Lucky me, they aren't going to be paying me my bonus for last month. And of course, just because my life couldn't be any worse with this, I turned down a job offer last week, and they have already filled the position. :(

Just as a fair warning, I am drinking heavily right now, and please excuse any druck posts that I may make. :drunk:

I know it's not much, but hang in there.

I am an Aviation Maintenance Paint Technician, I paint aircaft and parts for Delta Air Lines. Working on 30 yrs with them..

Hobbies beside brewing are my Boys, drinking beer and riding the Harely...

I'm a production supervisor for a company the produces plastic containers for the food service industy. We blowmold gallon bottles. Now that I've starting brewing I wish we made 5 gal. bottles.

I manage gas and electric crews. My hobbies are fishing the Mississippi, raising and training bird dogs, of course hunting with my dogs, spending time with my family and now this home brew thing. One other thing going on in my life is my only little girl is getting married his fall so I'm writing checks left and right for limos and everything else. By the way CrazyToad I've been in the same position in the past, know what you're going thru, good luck......

Previously Superman. (No, really, when people asked my job title, that's what I told them.) Did every aspect of running and managing an IT department you could imagine - Help desk operation and resolution, E-mail support, Account management, Purchasing, Project Management, Systems Design, Hardware troubleshooting and repair (Dell Certified Warranty Tech, soon to be Apple too), Billing and transfers, Distance education via IP, classroom system troubleshooting, Graphic design, backup photography, pretty much I.T. top to bottom.

New position is much simpler - computer repair technician at the big local college. Haven't started yet, but it looks very relaxing and fun. I can't wait to be going in one direction, and not feeling so crazy.

Hobbies are pretty much being a drunk, and making more beer to drink, making me drunk. Recently discovered college football, and am loving it. NFL, not so much, but I am a Patriots fan on general principle. Music, but not good at playing anything much, used to play piano roughly, Violin and Viola quite well, started learning guitar, and sing bass. Now, work and brew. Brew and work. One is stress, and the other is stress relief.

Short: I am the guy people call and yell at when their web pages go down.

Long: I am the system administrator for a small company in the Dulles Corridor that specializes in internet marketing to small business across the country. I also make inter-office hardware purchasing decisions and do some custom web programming now and then.

My hobbies include... in a very broad sense... Freedom. I'm interested in politics, sociology and history as they pertain to individual civil liberty. I also an deeply involved with the Software Libre movement which is partially a fuel for the other things. Recently I've gotten my toes wet in embedded software as I'm working on writing software for my phone.

Well I got my B.A. in history in 2005 with the intention of being a social studies teacher and a lacrosse coach.

Since graduation I've done:

an abysmal retail job
architecture/CAD substitute
asst jv, head jv, asst varsity lacrosse coach
9th grade math teacher (algebra and freshman stat)
started a lacrosse company

and now I work for a company who provides camera and audio equipment to ESPN events. basically if you've ever seen a NASCAR event where they are interviewing a driver, the camera, transmitter, cable and head set that the reporter is wearing all belongs to us. we also install and operate the in car cameras.

last year I trained on NASCAR and NHRA.

my job specifically this year is to go to the IRL events, set up all the HD receivers and operate the in car cameras. it is, quite literally, awesome.

so to all that said my liberal arts degree wouldn't pay off, I say HA

[BEAVIS&BUTTHEAD] Huh, huh huh, huh, huh huh, huh, huh, huuuuuh...[/BEAVIS&BUTTHEAD]

Oh yeah, I'm the bottling line manager at Lazy Magnolia Brewing Company, Kiln, MS.

I like to brew, work on 'finishing' my house, drink beer, and build things in general.

:cross:

I sell cell phones, the horrible beasties.

As for hobbies, the list is too long. Suffice it to say I like to know how to do various and sundry random things. I've often said that the features I have that are most attractive to the opposite sex would be that I can roast coffee, butcher meat, and brew beer...;)

it's a tough job but somebody's gotta watch them! :D

Despite my moniker, I work in a factory. I make Nomex, so that might clue you in on who I work for. I took the 'factory' path after getting frustrated making peanuts building hours for a flying job. I am working on a B.S. in accounting at the moment and if all goes well, within a year I'll be working in corporate, living in Delaware (closer to SWMBO's dad) and doing some flying on the side.

Hobbies: besides flying I'm interested in sailing. SWMBO and I would love to take sailing vacations in the Caribbean (or just move there altogether).

Bromley, you ever come across a drilling company in the field called Keck. I used to work for them making ground water measuring equipment when I thought I wanted to be an electronic technician.

I work for a crime scene unit as a support personnel for our CSIs. Mostly I pretty up their field sketches on the computer for court. We also do a smattering of other graphic work when we can get it. It is definitely less exciting in the office than some people seem to think. Our only excitement is actually when we are called out to map scenes with our total station.

I waste a way my free time with the Wii and PC games, read sci-fi/fantasy when I can and, in theory, I am an amateur astronomer, fisherman and target shooter.

I work as an Animal Control Officer in Maine. It combines two of my favorite things, animals and telling stupid people what to do.:) It’s a fun job, except for the animals that bite part. And the best part is it is very independent, I don’t have any one looking over my shoulder. (I’m out on the road all day, and my office is off site from the police station.)

My hobbies are being out side. I like to hike, bike, snowshoe and just lay in the sun with a book and a cold beer.

Im a bill collector (sub prime mortgages). ive just recently started venturing into brewing, dont have much under my belt as of yet. i enjoy video games, comic books, sci fi, fishing, hanging out with my fiance and playing with my dogs. i also play music which has been something ive been doing less and less due to conflicting work schedules.

I'm a professional firefighter. I guess that explains why I like to drink beer so much.:drunk:
In my spare time I hunt and fish alot. I also go offroading in my Jeep and my Yamaha Rhino, and hit the river on my Ski Nautique. I guess I'm just a regular old redneck. Maybe I should be making 'shine instead of beer.:D
