I haven't brewed in 20 yrs and in my mid 60's now, so just giving everything away. Free for the taking.

I can send or post photos.
Stuff is no longer clean, but it is free, so you get the idea.

Even my keg cooler with 8-9 cornelius kegs are as I left them, most probably still with some beer in them.

I live in San Jose, California, so you gotta be local.
Stuff is "big and heavy", quite the expense and hassle to ship.

Some background info:
I had put a bunch of stuff on the front lawn for free the last couple of weeks, and everything is now gone except for the brewing equipment I put out. Even the all stainless grain mill with electric motor is still here, go figure.

Made my first batch of beer from extract at age 15 with a ceramic crock and a wooden stirring stick. Keeping the carboy (too) warm in winter with an electric blanket. Graduated to all grain buying whole malted barley, using a homemade recirc system with digital controllers, heater in recirc, plumbed water to the garage, temp controlled walk-in ferment room, refrigerated unit for lagers, and of course the refrigerated kegger with multiple taps for drinking. It goes on and on. Even got recruited to be a judge for the county fair homebrew competion.

If it means anything, I do air conditioning and refrigeration by trade, so mechanical things, refrigerated equipment, and accurate temp control is right up my alley!

Just the multiple cornelius' ought to be desirable to someone. Everything needs a good cleaning, and probably new rubber gaskets and seals, but welcome to the life of a brewer!

Got this one real old milk cooler that will hold two cornelius', converted the refrigeration from a belt drive sulfur dioxide to a more conventional hermetic compressor and refrigerant. Set the temp at 32*F for making lagers, Mmmm, Yummy. Not pretty, but sure gets the job done!

I may not live in the SJ area but the company I work for is located there and i have many friends who may be willing to ship some equipment to me. Can you provide me some pics? Thx, Rich

Just saw your post. I'll post some pics this weekend.

The 'cooler' I made my lager in is pretty cool. Decades old milk cooler intended for those stainless cylinders they collect milk in. Originally a belt drive compressor running sulphur dioxide as the refrigerant. Converted the compressor to newer hermetic style and now using a non-toxic refrigerant.

Holds two cornelius' nicely. Set temp at 32*F, drop in your five gal keg, and forget about it for a few months. Smoothest lager you'll ever taste!

Enameled top cleans up nice. Exterior sides getting rather rusted, with a bit of prep and a couple of cans of gloss white spray paint, should provide more great service.

I'll need to plug it in to verify operation still good.

def interested in the grain mill, as long as my friends can ship it. Thx

Had it on the front lawn for a week. surprised no one took it, even if they didn't know what it really was. Should be easy to ship if they ship things anyway. The larger equipment would be a completely different matter.

The mill was sold by itself. No extra big hopper, no motor or other electrical, no super heavy duty SS base plate. It has been sitting in the garage for 20 years now, so needs a thorough cleaning, but since it's all SS, it will clean up real nice and pretty.

I'm in South City and would like to see what you got. I am looking for some corny kegs to possibly try and ferment in. Only restriction is they have to be about 23 inches tall as that is what my kegerator can fit. If you have some time, I would like to check out what you got. Rock On!!!!

Looks like the standard height of these 5 gal cornies is 24.5" tall

But you're close enough there may be other stuff you'd be interested in. Was a full grain brewer (and other stuff) with refrigerated equipment to get a primo product.

Hate to throw stuff away, not looking to make a dime, I would just rather someone else could benefit from free equipment.

Looks like I have ten 5 gal 'standard' cornelious kegs. And another that is probably 10 gal. I never used that 10 gal, someone gave it to me, and it's just been sitting.

I'll be keeping the CO2 tank and regulator, but nothing else here. The keg cooler is probably too old, large, and heavy to be desireable, but the taps are something someone may want. The cooler was originally made with two taps for two 15(?) gal kegs. I purchased the four head tap thingy on top. So it should just unscrew and be easy to transport.

Have the four taps that screw on to the fittings that are visible.

Have a box of various tap handles in the attic given to me by friends through the years. I'll probably just keep one or two of the most memorable handles.

Yeah, right?

Brewing used to be a big thing. I think one problem is the youth these days has never had to do anything for themselves. They don't know the true joy in building something. Or making something with your own hands.

The next photo will be taken on my computer table. Which I built from scratch, I mean, really scratch. I think it turned out pretty good. The large white piece is madrone from some land I owned up in the foothills of the Sierras. The brown wood is mahogany from pallets when they were massacring the rain forests then using the wood to ship stuff to the US instead of just burning it. The white strips is old oak from my flooring I repaired and refinished.

Anyway, rock on . . .

I've got a counter pressure bottle filler, was looking for it, must be buried somewhere. Interestingly enough, got away from bottling, just so much time and hassle involved. I bought and used it just so I could enter beer in competitions. But I did run across my refractometer. Reads sugar in a % for potential alcohol.

Just looked up the price. Can't believe how cheap this stuff is these days. Stuff was more expensive years ago. I guess that's one benefit to the World wiDe iNTerWeb.

Seriously though, I've got two still intact. I was cutting this in half when a friend said hey, you know they've got beer forums out there, right? I replied, they do? That's why I am here. I just have too much stuff and need to de-clutter. As it should be obvious, not trying to make an money, just better if someone else can use this stuff.

There's the two tap thingy, whatever the proper term is, the original from my keg cooler. Before I retro-ed it to a four head tap. Anyone like to drink cold beer right from your own kegs?

Kinda difficult to see, but this is The Heart of a recirc system for brewing. Pump, cooler, and heater.

It may look a bit on the crude side, but it is/was more sophisticated than you may think. I realize the system only had something like 13 ball valves, digital controllers for perfect temp control, never needing to open or touch the mash/wort from start, to mash, to boil, to filling the carboys. So extreme minimal chance of contamination.

Start the yeast primer two days ahead. The day before is spent deep cleaning and sanatizing. The morning of is spent with a quick re-sanitize.

Quite the process, but when you love your beer, and you want a superior product, it's well worth the effort!

You can increase available vertical height inside of a kegerator?
No, sorry, not inside a kegerator, we could only wish. I thought he had a keezer. ;)

Makes me wonder, though, why regular ball lock cornies wouldn't fit inside his kegerator. My black handle (ball lock) cornies are 24 7/8" tall (25" minus 1/8"). And they do make low profile disconnects.

Even Sixtels are 23" high, without the coupler.

Found another box. I wondered where all those cornelious fittings ran off to. I wonder how many hydrometers I have?

I wonder what the heck I did with this, LOL. Oh well, into the wood burner you go . . .

EDIT:
Blurry. Oh well. Not worth the time to re-take.

CO2 tank to tank transfer. Nice for robbing some from your 20 pounder to fill your 5 pounder. The fiver is so cute, I wonder where it's hiding? Haven't seen it for so long. Nice to have for putting out kitchen fires. You get a grease fire, pull out the CO2, put the fire out, then keep on cooking. That happened when I was cooking for a girl I ended up spending a few decades with. First time I was cooking for her. She was impressed I didn't panic, then kept on cooking as though nothing had happened.

Think I better keep this.

Found another box. Looks like the first heater for my recirc system. Too wimpy though, needed more power!

And of course the fittin's never end . . .

I wonder what I was planning to do with this corny cap? Maybe too much beer one weekend. Nice welds, huh? Did notice one corny with no top, at least this will still work as a top, just need a couple of plugs.

I sent you a PM. I am very interested. The cornies could be handy even if they do not fit in my kegerator as I could use them to ferment in and do a closed transfer into my serving keg. Let me know if you got my message. I am on vacation this coming week and could take a trip to you and check out what you got. Thanks.

To those who asked about my kegerator, the reason I am restricted is due to the freezer shelf in it. I am afraid to try and bend it because if I break the pipe then it becomes useless. I have see Youtube vids where they try and do this and the metal pipe breaks and all is lost. But that is not to say I won't try it. Heck, he has so much cool stuff it would be like a kid in a candy store just to check it all out.

Someone from another thread was interested in the culture tubes I have. Used to propogate yeast. VERY cost effective, efficient, and convenient way to "handle" your yeast. Get 5-6 and even more batches from one purchase of the primo liquid yeast. These are Kimax culture tubes rated for autoclave use; of course, we use our pressure cooker. If you enjoy brewing on a regular basis, best to learn the advantages of using slants to store and innoculate your batches.

It is a process if anyone is interested. Simple, but certain things to know makes it easier when starting out.

First photo is before cleaning to ship. Note that this slant is well over 20 years old and still good to go. Just to give you an idea of the advantages of "storing" your yeast this way. Other photos after cleaning to ship.

Got price to ship $56 for FedEx, and around $65 for USPS. Tubes are ~$4 ea new, and when shipped with racks to hold ~$2 ea. The person who was initially interested didn't want to pay that much shipping.

I have 31 of them. The small rack is home made and will fit into my pressure cooker. The large rack is worn, but a couple of coats of black spray paint will go a long way.

Looks like we're down to the floor model corker, 10 gal keg, culture tubes for slants, maybe the grain mill, and a few of the 5 gal glass carboys.

If I find or can think of anything else, I'll let y'all know.

Maybee people thinks it's some kind of scam as you don't see kegs and a grain mill for free.

For what it's worth, RedRocker stopped by and loaded up. He can attest to the fact I am the real deal. No scam. Just a sort of change of life thing, trying to de-clutter and see what the next stage of life will set on my doorstep.

Compliments for giving it all away, don't see that very often.
I'm in my mid 60's but still brew and drink a fair share of beer, cider and wine. Actually planting a small vineyard this spring.
It may sound morbid, but I'd rather pass away with a beer in my hand than a in a wheel chair in some retirement home with drool all over my shirt.

Yeah, no problem. It's yours. Probably just needs new lid gasket and rubber o-rings for the fittings, inexpensive maint intems, maybe they're still okay, anyones guess.

Nothing wrong with drinking in moderation, regardless of age!

Got 2-4 cases (maybe more?) of wine bottles if you're interested. Didn't even think of mentioning on here till just now. Otherwise, they're going in the recycle bin. Let me know
