I've seen talk here that skinning a keezer with wood could create a heat issue. Would the same apply for a metal based skin like diamond plate? I'm considering using it on mine to fit into a garage/man-cave theme.

Thanks.

Aluminum would conduct the heat away from the freezer better than wood. It's possible to enclose the freezer in wood you just need to provide some air between the freezer and the wood to allow the heat to escape from the walls of the freezer. I think diamond plate would be fine to "skin" it with.

How about some NASCAR flame decals?:)

If you can bond the plate to the skin so you get good heat transfer then it will be fine.
