Bought some copper tubing online recently and when I received it I noticed this:

Is this going to be okay? How can I re-shinify it?

I use bar keepers friend and a scrubby to clean my chiller. Works great on copper. Also works great on anything stainless.

As per Palmer's How to Book on page 310, that bluish-green color looks like verdigris. I would remove it before I used it in my wort.

Thanks a lot for the input. I don't think it's verdigris. Those photos are kind of bad. It looks brown on the copper, more like it got scuffed or something. StarSan will be the first place this is going once I shape it into a chiller.

it's tarnish. Verdigris will kill you. A little brown tarnish won't hurt you at all.

But clean it after you use it. That black stuff that builds up after using it makes a muddy flavor in your beer.
