Having learned that "stubbies" are something else entirely (beer worth drinking doesn't seem to be sold in them around here to speak of)...

Does anyone know what, if anything, the proper name of the short, fat, neck-having Sierra Nevada style of bottle is?

(If not, I'm gonna start calling them "Fatnecks.")

I, for one, like "fatnecks." Let's stick with that!

I believe the proper name is "heritage" bottles.

I've always called 'em "short necks". Stubbies are something different (no neck)

Hah! I always thought "stubbies" were these:

But Google says this is a stubby

and this is a heritage...

It's enough to make someone switch to kegging ;)

Cheers!

Hmm....Last time I looked long necks were 12 ounces.

Anyway, "pony" does get hits on that 7 ounce bottle style, usually for Miller High Life. Might be a regional thing...

Cheers!

I never heard them called anything since no one else I know drinks them.

Due to seeing the acronym SNPA for the beer, in my head I call them Snappa bottles :D
