Problem connecting my heat exchanger

Hi there.

Im a Danish guy, who's been brewing for a couple of years, recently went into upgrading my setup to a herms system which is in it's last phase.

I've encountered a problem that i could use some help with.
I bought a stainless steel heat exchanger from a fellow brewer, with 8mm tube, that i have to connect to my 1/2" press fitting through the pot.

The fittings on the 8mm tube are 8mm press fitting - 1/2" male
Through the pot is a 12mm press fitting - 1/2" male.

Any ideas to how i get these connected?

I guess I would try removing the 12mm with 1/2" male from the pot and using the gasket and nut from that with the 8mm with 1/2" male as the new bulkhead.

Not sure how it would work based on the photo with the angles, but then again, I'm not sure how it would work if they were all 8mm.
