New Keg... now what?

I'm assuming this should be relatively easy, but I aquired a Sanke Keg from my Brew Supply store, now I need to cut 'er open to use as my main boil pot.

Anyone have an idea as to what tools would be best serve to do this?

plasma cutter If you dont have 1 of those...I used a recipricating saw. It shook the piss out of me but it cut the top out. The I used a grinder to finish out the rough spots. It worked great.

angle grinder with a cut off blade works well.

Before cutting I wanted top remove the spear from teh centre. I was able to turn it out but cant'actually get it out.

It is also threaded, unlike all the other "spear removal" links I've been looking at. Does that mea it's real old?
Any other suggestions on how I can get it out?
