Hey everyone, my name is Blake Bauer and I just joined the forum and I'm a very excited new brewer. I finally picked up a true brew beginners kit a few months ago and I'm now on my second batch. My first brew was a true brew amber ale and well, it was definitely a learning experience. It is for the most part I drinkable. It has a bad taste and is over carbonated. I realize now after cruising the forums and talking to a few other brewers that I really shouldn't have followed the directions and not bottled after fermenting a week. So I just brewed a brewers best Irish stout which has been fermenting for just over a week. I plan on leaving it in my fermentor for another 2-3 weeks. Eventually I plan on going to all grain once I have several brews under my belt. I look forward to learning from everyone and becoming a home brew nerd.

Welcome to the forum. This is a great resource as you have discovered already. What part of OK are you in? I have a friend down there thinking about getting into brewing.

Thanks! I am in the northwest Oklahoma City area. If your friend is in okc I can recommend a few great brew shops in the area and I would love to have another homebrew friend (don't know too many right now) in the area.

Hey Bauer glad I found your post. I'm a new brewer in Oklahoma myself. I brewed my first Irish Red and it ended up like a pale ale o_O
Ive got a very promising copper ale in the secondary right now. I'd like to get in on any brewshops you know of. Shipping is killing me right now.

Thanks for the welcome guys. I'm glad to see so many brewers from Oklahoma here. We will all have to keep in touch. There are 2 great brew shops in The Oklahoma City area. The first one is called the brew shop and it is located on Penn just a mile or two south of the penn square mall.

The other one is Learn to brew and is located just off I-35 in Moore on south 19th st.

Both places are great and very helpful. I bought my beginners kit online and got the rest of my supplies at these shops. I am definitely going to be getting all of my supplies from these shops from now on.

I live about a mile from ltb. I spend way too much money there.
