Microbreweries in the Land of Guinness

Just found a good, if older, article on microbreweries in Ireland. I would love to try some of these, especially the Red Biddy! Brewed with local wild herbs and bog myrtle.

I've been to the Porterhouse and let me tell you it is PHENOMENAL! AWESOME BEER. seriously some of the best brews I've had. Their oyster stout is heavenly smooth and rich in flavor. They brew up a good Pils and a Berliner Weiss as well.

I just got back from Ireland two days ago. Spent a couple of days in Dublin and went to Porterhouse twice. Nice Oyster Stout on tap there. Fun place and since I was within walking distance I did sample more than a few brews.

It is a shame that in Ireland almost all the pubs have the same stuff on tap. The standard lineup is, Gunnness,Smithwicks, Carlsberg, Heinekin, Budweiser, Coors.

Don't forget Bulmers Cider. Very common on tap there.
