And d@#n does it taste good. I made the Winkie-Dink Marzen from Complete Joy of Homebrewing. Now I just have to restrain myself from 'checking the hydrometer' for another week or two...
 
That's fine and congrats. I taste every brew every step of the way. It helps you get a good feel for the aging process.

Just keep in mind that it changes quite a bit (and don't freak out when it does) and you will be fine.
 
When I'm bottling, the last one or two that I bottle always manage to get a bit aerated. Won't be a problem immediately, but will over time. I mark the caps of the aerated beers and, when I can't resist popping a beer early to "test" it, I pop one of those. I'll also sometimes bottle a few in Corona shorty (7 oz) bottles for this purpose. They're also clear, so you can judge clarity and settlement, too.
