I am waiting on Hops for this.... hurry up MIDWEST SUPPLIES!!! Sheesh! I guess I shouldn't have thrown that cheap all grain kit on the order, since that's what the hold up is. Grain room backed up with orders, or some s#it.
I was looking at the ingredients on the Simply Limeade bottle. It's just water, sugar and lime juice. So I was thinking about taking a gravity reading of it, calculating the sugar content, and then making a jug of it to taste with lime juice. If I do, I will post the formula here. Might save a few $$ on a batch of this. Heck, you are going to have the limes for the zest anyway!
EDIT:
Per the label, 28g sugar per serving x 7 servings = 196g sugar in the bottle (how much sugar is in a lime? can't be much at all)
So, if you just add about 7oz of corn sugar to the boil, and then add some lime juice to the fermenter....the simply bottle says 12% Lime Jiuce (7oz then?).
This quick calculation makes total sense, as the recipes online for Limeade call for 1c sugar, 1c lime juice, 3c water. Easy peasy.
I think I would puree a lime, rather than use the ReaLime bottled juice. Or use a juicer for it, if you have one.
Just a thought
