Hi everyone,

I just finished brewing a custom 5 gallon IPA. This custom recipe I put together to try and clone Pfriem’s IPA. I just bottled it today and it taste amazing. I dedicate this IPA to singer/songwriter John Prine. It’s as tasty as his song writing.

Summer’s End IPA
Batch size: 5 gallons
- Only used 3 gallons to brew the beer and topped off to 5 gallons with cold water when it was placed into primary fermenter

Speciality Grains
- steeped for 20 Minutes at 155 degrees
0.25 lb of 2 row pale ale malt
0.25 lb of caramalt malt
0.25 lb of Simpson light malt
0.25 lb of Simpson dark malt

Extract Malt
1 lb of Pilsen dry malt extract
7.5 lbs of Pilsen liquid malt extract

Hops
1 oz of Chinook - 60 minute boil
1 oz of Mosaic - 30 minute hopstand (180 degrees)
1 oz of citra - 30 minute boil hopstand (180 degrees)
1 oz of mosaic - 7 day dry hop
1 oz of citra - 7 day dry hop

Yeast
Safale Ale Yeast US-05

transferred to 2nd fermenter after 7 days
Total fermentation time: 14 days

OG - 1.061
FG - 1.010
ABV - 6.7%
IBU - 65
SRM - 6.46 (Morey)
