Hey everyone - I'm going to run this LIF round as well. All of the beer is coming from Bryan Turner (spdyfire83) and a few 'slightly' well known brewers who have stepped in to help!

A few quick notes before Bryan's message. For those of you who don't know Owen, Owen is an amazing 3 year old who was diagnosed a few months ago with B Cell All Leukemia. It's a 3 year treatment plan that comes with a lot of ups and downs. You can read Casey (his mom's) post about the spinal tap that he just underwent on the youcaring site 'updates' tab.

This round will be open to anyone worldwide! However, like last round, i could use the help of two or three volunteers to pick up shipping if any boxes are won internationally.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask. Please take a moment out of today's celebration to make a donation and help Owen with his fight!

Beer Community,

I'll keep this as short...

Bill Young kicked off the fundraising efforts for Owen's Leukemia Recovery with an awesome few lots of beers in January and a wonderful group of 10 contributors headed in a wide variety of awesome boxes:
Last round: http://www.talkbeer.com/community/threads/for-the-community-from-the-community-lif.7710/
Last round's amazing drawing:

To-date, people have generously donated over $22,500 through http://www.youcaring.com/medical-fundraiser/o-s-big-fight-/117602! More than half of that has come from the beer community. I know Owen, Casey, and Matt really appreciate all of the love, support, thoughts and prayers.

Someone do me a small favor and tag me in this on Monday? JUST in case I forget to donate. I probably won't forget though. This is important.

Haven't gotten to make a donation yet after all. I had some unplanned expenditures so it'll have to wait till maybe next week, but will get it in under the Aug. 4th deadline for sure.

Cheers,

B.S.

P.S. Once I am commissioned police officer, if there's any kids suffering from leukemia or other illness that would like a visit from a cop, I'd be more than happy to show up in uniform and surprise them* (*depending on what department policy states about wearing a uniform off-duty. Offer may also be limited to the scope of the metropolitan area I'm located in.)

I'll think you'll have more luck with bachelorette parties.

I was just asked how we were doing this round on another site. I was replying and thought i'd give a quick update here as well. =)

Our main goal is to get to where we did during previous rounds. We're 40% of the way there with 10 days left. We're 30% of the way to hitting our stretch goal.

That's pretty normal though. The first 3 weeks seems to be mostly raising awareness. For whatever reason, most of the activity is usually in the final week.

While i'm posting though, I will take a moment to give an update on Owen for anyone who's interested. He finished another round of Chemo last week. It's been a rough couple of weeks, wiping out his immune system. This round is all done though and leaving him bruised, sore, and exhausted! He's had some infection issues has had a slow time recovering. He's coming around though. A few more days and he should be able to go home. Everyone's support has been amazing and is really appreciated!

He did find time to facetime with Stella though! "It's OK, i'll be there soon!"

I just finished catching up on raffle entries and emails. By now, everyone should have received a message from me. There are a few discrepancies though. If you donated but haven't received a confirmation email from me, please send me a message.
