Kegco shank not sitting flush?

Hey all,

I bought 5 kegco 4" shanks for my keezer build but something strikes me weird about them. The black face plate (best way I an describe it..) doesn't sit flush to the shank. Here are some pics. Does anyone else have this on their shanks and is this normal?

Looks perfectly normal to me. You don't want the escutcheon to be tight against the coupler...

Looks normal. The black plastic flange isn't supposed to sit tight against the faucet coupler.

I have the same kind and mine are the exact same. I never even really noticed it before ha.
