Today I'm brewing Northern Brewers RyePA and am looking to substitute or add some hops. I wasn't totally impressed with it last time, but it was not a bad beer.

http://www.northernbrewer.com/documentation/beerkits/PM-RyePA.pdf

3lb Rahr 2row
1.5 Weyermann Rye
.5 CaraRed
6lb Amber LME (15 minute addition)

60min- 1oz Summit (18.5%)
15min- 1oz Palisade (7.6%)
0min - .5oz Palisade
Dry - .5oz Palisade

Honestly I feel like the Dry Hop was more trouble than it was worth. Right now I have 4oz Centennial (8%), 5oz Citra (12.4%), 4oz Amarillo (7.5%), 1 Amarillo HopShot, 1oz Simcoe (12.2%), and 1oz Magnum (13.1%) that aren't dedicated to any recipe. I bought the Citra/Amarillo/Magnum for a future Surly Abrasive clone attempt, but could spare a couple oz since I will be ordering again before we brew the clone

Any suggestions?

You can get an idea of what I like here- http://beeradvocate.com/user/beer_reviews?ba=zachary80&order=ratingD&start=0

I've never had that beer. But, I normally use 2 oz to dry hop my IPA's. Amarillo is good in those for a dry hop. Don't know how they'd work in your beer though.

I think you're right, 1/2 oz isn't much and I doubt it would show.

I should note that I'm also using US05 for the yeast. BeerSmith has it pretty much in the middle of the style guide for American IPA

Here is the preliminary idea:

Cut the Summit bittering down from 1oz to .8oz. Add a 5ml Amarillo Hopshot at 15 minutes (equivalent to .9oz Amarillo). Add 1oz of Amarillo to the dry hop
