Dude from Korea was at the NHC this year with pots that had aluminum fins fused to the bottom of the pot. I think the claim was 47% more efficient.

I can't find a picture of the inside of the pot. Does it extend out "into" the flares? Or are the flares stuck on and the inside of the pot looks normal? Seems like if there a bunch of nooks and crannies it would be a PITA to clean.

Since the flares are only there to increase the contact surface area of the flame to the pot I'd say no.
