I was at my home brew store a few months ago and was told that if I use bottled spring water that I do not need to bother adding the gypsum. Then, just the other day I was told if using spring water then I need to add the gypsum. I am hearing two different things, can someone clear this up for me? Thanks.

Depends on the makeup of the spring water and what you want from your water to fit what style.
Spring water still contains minerals so if you are doing AG then check your mash PH to see if anything is needed.
