FYI - Cheap Better-Bottle Alternative.

I've been keeping my eye out on the plastic bottles at my Local Lowes Store. (Especially after looking at the better bottle web site. ) They have had a couple different brands of bottles 5 & 3 gal. Most of which are the non-desirable types for beer making. They resently got in a new brand of water bottles.

The new brand is Absopure. Anyhow their bottles are made of PET, the same at the "Better Bottle" material. They had 3 gal bottles of spring water for $4.99. They also sell the 5 gallon bottles.

You can ID the PET bottle regardless of brand. If it has a triangle with a 1 in the center its PET. This one I saw had the triangle and PETE on the bottom. PETE & PET are the same.

Its alot cheaper than $20-45 off the Williams Brewing site or your LHBS. Assuming you could care less about not having the spigot.

Thats really cool. I think i might get a couple of 3 gallons to do split batches with. 5 bucks a pop you cant beat.
