Fruit for seltzer

All,
Making 5 gal of seltzers for a birthday party coming up - doing the easy route with vodka, water and force carb.

For fruit, thinking of doing blackberry lime. I'll use lime juice for the lime but planned on doing blackberries. Do I need to sanitize them before using? I know I would for beer but not sure how important for seltzer. I'm worried that'll suck the flavor out. Plus, I'll need to buy more vodka ;)
