Just kegged my first lager (kit was Negra Modelo Clone from Northern Brewer).

It has been carbonating in keg for about a week -- tried a sample and a little more bitter than I expected.

Had it sitting at 35 degrees in secondary for 6 weeks previous to kegging.
I did do a Dyacetyl Rest in Primary Fermenter before transferring to Secondary.
Very thorough cleaning and sanitation of keg also.

I guess I just don't know what to expect since I have never made a lager before -- all of my ales turn out really well.

Any chance the bitterness will subside after sitting in keg for awhile longer?
Anyone else experience this?

Thanks,

Rick

The most important lesson I have learned from these forums is the lesson of patience. Let the beer sit one, two, three weeks. It will get better and better.

Yep -- it's been over a week since I first posted -- it already tasting better.

Age will help. I love the Elevator in Columbus, as well as Schmidt's.

Yes -- both very good places (Schmidt's and Elevator Company). Quite a few microbrew bars/restaurants opening in Columbus too -- also another big thing beginning to catch on in Columbus are Growler Stations.
