Hey so I'm working on my first brew. Things are going well, but I tried to make a dry yeast starter but there is no activity like I expected. This is what I did:
I boiled a cup of water and cooled it to 97F then added and stirred in the Nottingham dry yeast a little bit. Then boiled a small amount of water with a tsp of regular table sugar. After leaving the yeast and water sit for 15min I combined the two. I expected activity but do not see any!
Can I still use this yeast? Or should I just pitch my Safale s-05 yeast with no starter?
