Hey gang,

I have been reading that with sour beers it is best to use a separate set of equipment that you keep just for use when making sours but was curious if I would need to using an extract kit that uses non-wild yeasts.

The kit: http://www.homebrewing.org/Get-Gosed-Beer-Recipe-Kit_p_5103.html

My guess is that I don't need to invest into a different set of equipment since this isn't a true sour but wanted to get a poll of the community before I assume.

No, you don't need a separate set of equipment for this recipe.

What you might want, however, is some food grade lactic acid to achieve some sourness. With this recipe, I would add it to taste, post-fermentation. You could add it with the coriander and salt, but if you over-acidify you run the risk of pissing off your yeast.

I think it's overkill, anyway, if you practice proper sanitation, but it looks like this kit achieves a sour character through the use of acid malt, so I'd say you're good.
