Just a quick banter thread for ideas on how to make an Easter European India Pale Ale (or Central European, depending on the definition you use)! Yes, some fun!
I was looking at all these cheap Eastern European hops and thought it would be worth making an IPA out of them. First thought was to use dana / marynka for bittering and flavour, and finish off with maybe dana and saaz for aroma. Malt wise, use a rather dry and light base of half pilsner malts and half pale malt (2 row, MO, whatever you use). A 6.3% abv version would work out in all grain at 3SRM, which is hilarious for an IPA. As most of the descriptors for the hops are earthy / spicy, maybe some rye crystal would complement them nicely with some extra colour and spice.
Any ideas? Worth going ahead with?
