Enclosure: A patent pending design specifically made for home brewing and wine making. The enclosure insulates the fermenter from the ambient environment, blocks UV light, and keeps the airlock outside of the enclosure (easy to monitor the fermentation process). Fits common sizes of home brewing carboys and buckets. It consists of water resistant shell and thick closed cell foam insulation. Designed and built to ensure trouble free, reliable performance. Cooling Jacket: A patent pending design specifically made for home brewing and wine making. Designed to allow accurate and reliable fermentation temperature control. The flexible Cooling Jacket has over 300 square inches of cooling surface to make sure your fermenter stays nice and cool, and it totally encloses the cooling fluids so a heating element can also be used.
The jacket fits many common carboys and buckets (5, 6, and 6.5-gallon glass and plastic carboys, and 6 gal fermentation buckets). (Dimensions: 43.5 L x 13 H)
Please note, the cooling jacket was designed to operate at 8 PSI or less. Pressures in excess of 8 PSI may damage the Cooling Jacket. In our tests, the March 809-PL-HS and 815-PL pumps worked well, as did the 370 GPH adn the 500 GPH submersible pumps. If you need a pump, please see the Submersible Pump listed under "Accessories".
Quick Disconnects: Male Quick Disconnect and Female Quick Disconnect for attaching to 1/2 tubing.
Heating Element: The 40W fermentation Heating Element fits a wide range of home brewing fermenters. Used with a Single-stage temperature controller, it can heat your fermenter when the temperature falls below the set point. Used with Cool Zone and a Two-stage temperature controller, one can maintain temperatures to within +/- 1 degree F. (Dimensions: 26 L x 11 H) The 40-Watt heater provides additional heating capability to the fermenter. 40W Heater fits smooth walled carboys or buckets.
(Note: If you use Better Bottle carboys, you may want to consider our 25W model. It fits in the contours of the 5 and 6-gallon Better Bottle carboys.)
