Haha. You should write more about what is good and appropriate music. You could sell a lot of books to people ashamed of the music they listen to!

Why should I do that? You seem to be a better judge than I.

Sorry bro, I can't waste the bandwidth, I detest Queen, always have. I don't give a rats ass for that YMCA crew either. Now don't twist your thong in a big ol' wad, I never liked Nugent or Clinton. Or Elton, Janice or Beatles.

Now, Stones, Porter Wagner, CCR, Emmielou, or Houndsmouth. Even a bit o'Cash and Jennings. Just don't whine to me.

For kracklin. I think this is awesome, the whole thing.

Now THAT is a classic! Great stuff. And it's not like there weren't some tough acts on that stage to follow, either. For instance, the group playing right before them...

any aspiring rock band frontmen should study that, learn it, because that's the way it's done

the greatest live performance in the history of rock music. Freddie Mercury had 75,000 people at Wembley and another 100,000 watching on giant screens in Philadelphia in the palm of his hand.

RIP, Freddie

also at that show: if you watch U2s performance, there's a part where Bono makes some strange gestures to the front of the audience. He was actually trying, unsuccessfully, to get the attention of security

Bono jumped down, pulled a young woman from the crowd, hugged her and began to slow dance with her. He had actually just saved her life. he noticed from the stage she was being crushed by the crowd and was trying to get someone to help her.

Nirvana sucked. SS is the real deal.

Brilliant! You should be the cutting edge editor we really need obviously. Hillary is all tied up doing something. You call my people when they are available. I'll email you details.

I still have the second album," Hot Rod Lincoln Drags Again", with a candy purple AA/FC on the cover...a coupe bodied digger that was what " A Altered Fuel Coupe" was in my day. Gotta dig out the old albums for a video someday...

That is old cool stuff. It was a fun transition including rockabilly and country getting into a little rock and roll. Car songs had a pretty good run well into the 60's. That says a lot for the cars. There aren't all that many kayak songs that were in the top 40.

I have another old one titled, " Hot Rodders Battle rock-n-Roll", with ruby short & his Dragsters. Old music mixed with drag sounds of the day. Some really cool sounds on that one from my youth.

Has this been posted? The 'search this thread' thing is not working on my tablet. Anyway, I first heard this as a little kid from my older brother's record collection. I always liked the part at 6:40 where it's solo keyboards for a bit and the intensity builds before the drums come back and bring everybody back in.

Good to see there's still life in this thread. Here's one I hadn't heard in a long time...

I'm turning into that guy; "that's a good one, but here's a version I like more!"

LIVE! version with same cool solo keyboards and building intensity PLUS LASERS!

and a point where Keith Moon starts going maniac and doesn't let up until the end of the song

the 2 downsides: the idiot who put a credits crawl over the laser show & cringing every time the custom Les Paul hits the ground

Nice one! Yeah, Pete's poor guitars!

Everytime they show Entwistle I think of Harry Shearer in Spinal Tap. :D

Best Who song ever...!

Never liked The Who. I do like Yes though, a band with a similarly efficient name.

Have you ever heard the comedy sketch where two people are discussing the lineup at a rock festival? It's a riff on the Abbott and Costello "Who's On First?" routine. The Who and Yes figure prominently in the discussion.

But in keeping with the thread topic:

See if you don't suddenly recognize this song at 0:45. It's not a cover, it's the original. Zep did the "cover". I posted this somewhere else on the forum before, but I was just thinking about it and thought I'd drop it here. Cheers.

Ok so I know a lot of remakes are not as good as the originals. Good remakes though can be classics. Van Halen's "Pretty Woman" is in my opinion a good remake. Well I really think this remake is spot on and with Sammy Hagar hitting the vocals and Neil Schon on the guitar like only he can play lead, and I think you have a winner remake! The original is great though! What do you think of this one?

The true classic would be Robert Johnson, but this Cream cover is a classic in my mind.
