I’ve been fine tuning several cider recipes in 1gal glass carboys (apple, blueberry, mango, apple pie, pineapple, peach, grape). Eventually I plan to scale the ones I like best up to 5gal buckets.
My best results have all come from pitching strait apple primaries, then racking onto the different whole fruit and/or juices at secondary.
I was about ready to pitch five more (pear, blackberry, cherry, cranberry, strawberry) when I acquired a nice 5gal glass carboy.
Is there any reason not to pitch a single 5gal apple cider primary, then rack it into 5 separate single gallon carboys to test out the remaining recipes?
