Bon vino as brew pump?

I picked up a used Bon Vino Super Jet filter, I got a great deal! I bypassed the filter pads and use it for racking. I wonder, would it work as a brew pump? The Bon Vino people say it's food-safe, of course, but have no temp rating. What do you think?
