What advantages would a thick walled aluminum pot have over a thin walled pot? By thick I mean 3/16"-almost 1/4". The thin walled pot is an eighth or less.

Thin aluminum will dent very easily, and with a large propane burner you can burn through the bottom after a while. My pots are 1/4" and they are bullet proof.
