We just built a house with a partially finished basement. There is a large unfinished area that shares a wall with my bar area, and this project has been in my head since we started building.

I am building a Keezer that will house my kegs and running lines to the back of the wall in order to place taps on the bar wall.

Project just started over the weekend and was inspired by a post/build on another forum from a couple of years ago.

Attached are initial pics and I will post more as things progress. I don't anticipate it being hard at all...easy to run them through the PVC and the box on the wall will have a hinged door for ease of access.

Made some progress tonight...drilled holes for the taps from the bar into the box and began insulating and installed door enclosure.

I also ordered a tower chiller to force air to the box from the Keezer and a small computer fan to pull return air and help with circulation.

Looking good! How far are you running your lines? I'm thinking of doing something similar so this is perfect timing to see how it works out.:mug:

The Keezer with the collar is about 38" and the taps are at 56", so I only have 18" of rise to deal with and 6" of it is in the box mounted to the wall, so I am only going through 12" of PVC.

Reflectix has a very low R value. I feel that even it's advertised R value is generous. You may want to consider polyisocyanurate (rigid foam board) instead.
That said; looks fantastic so far.

Thanks for the great idea!

I finished this project just in time for Thanksgiving and it was a huge hit to have the taps working. Faucets are nice and cold and pour awesome. I've since insulated the exterior of the collar and pipes.

This is awesome! My wife and I just moved into our new house (new construction) and i've been planning something like this from the begging stages of building. Our home has a small unfinished section, just like yours, right next to where I plan on building my bar. When we were making our selections, like flooring and stuff, I had the builder add a dedicated circuit in that room for my future keezer. Thanks for posting.

Thanks for the detailed pictures... I am planning on doing something very similar, this will help me alot!

Love the drain tube idea, where do you have that going to?
