So I've moved, but I haven't parted ways with the old house yet. I've been doing work to prepare it for selling and I was in the basement where I used to do my fermenting. I (still) haven't got into very good temperature control yet and for the most part I ferment on the basement floor in the summer and on a chair in the winter. I used to be more lax about which carboys I'd use for the primary fermentation, and sometimes I'd even use a 5 gallon without a blow off tube.
