50 qt Mash Tun Conversion

Hello

I have a coleman Xtreme 50 qt cooler that I am trying to convert to a mash tun.

it looks like this:

My issue is that the spigot area (where my brass ball valve is) angles upwards inside and I'm afraid it won't drain properly during the mash.

Any suggestions?

I would drill a hole out the front of the cooler at the bottom rather than trying to use the original drain location.

Others have plumbed a down tube from the original drain to siphon to the very bottom of the cooler.

If either of these are beyond your skill set, I would advise getting another cooler with a bottom level drain.
