I am 15 minutes into the boil of a Belgian dubbel or tripel, depends on the final color.

Side note: I am using home made candi syrup, heated to 300*F , if anyone knows he srm value for it, that would be nice to know....

Anyways, I have been switching off between North Coast's PranQster (Golden Strong) and Real Ale's Devil's Backbone (Tripel) and am feeling quite good. I don't usually start drinking till after 5, but I am enjoying my last week off before starting a new job where I work 12+ hours a day, 7 days in a row :tank:

Nice ... I predict an "is my batch ruined" post by the end of the day ... J/K :D ... Enjoy your time off!

Time for drinking is when I want to or I get in the mood for something specific. The time is irrelevant. I've had mornings when I wanted a stout and ended up with a Guinness in my hand. Goes well with eggs. Never understood why people felt time had anything to do with drinking a specific beverage. Years ago I used to work nights and got off around 7 am and was standing in the grocery store with 2 different microbrew sixers and everyone was looking at me like a weirdo while they were in line buying cereal and milk for their kids. I used to tell them it was for breakfast. :D

This.

I even made a caffeinated breakfast stout to have for/with breakfasts (on special occasions). I actually named it STFU so when a relative or "concerned party" asks about my beverage with breakfast, I can offer them a glass of STFU.

Societies "norms" have never concerned me as long as I am not getting into trouble or hurting anyone I really do not understand why people have to impose their strange customs/unwritten rules on others.

The right time to have a beer is when you want one. :mug:

Brew on!

I agree . Its like seat belt laws and motorcycle helmet laws. YES I think people should wear seat belts/helmets, They DO save life's. But your not going to hurt someone else by not wearing them, besides emotionally the ones who love you. So who has the right to tell you what you HAVE to do. Choices in life is what it's about. Socialist want to force people into there beliefs. Sorry for getting kinda political on ya. Vote for anyone BUT Barack Obama :rockin: lmao
