Hey all!

still a noob here, and i used the search so i cannot find much on this. so i thought i would ask :).
Now i like to keep my stuff around the house looking nice, but i'm on a tight budget. And i have always loved the look of a conical fermenter... but the prices were WAY out of my range so i never thought twice about them and just looked into larger buckets and such if i wanted to get into this with larger batches later down the line...
However i came across these, and some of them say for wine/brew/food grade and they as far as i can tell do not have any sort of dye in them..
Has anyone successfully used these? and often?
for example. 10 gal $53 and shipping is around $10

or this even
15 gal for about the same price

or something similar like this, but what are the votes if a hole was drilled with an airlock fitted?
they have stands for them for fairly cheap

Those look pretty awesome. Are they (relatively) airtight?

A lot of guys like the stainless for it's durability, ease of cleaning, and pure bling factor.

The other benefit to conicals is the valves at and near the bottom for drawing off yeast or pulling samples... You could probably drill these and add the valves if you wanted to. They look pretty cool.
