Hey all,

I'm thinking about using gelatin finings and have a couple questions.

1) does it have to be cold?

2) Can it already be carbonated?

Thanks in advanced

My reading indicates, colder wort/beer is better.

And yes it can be carbonated. I did this a few weeks ago to a keg. Worked like magic.

Agree with buckshot; You can use it on room temp beer, but it seems to work better on cold. And yes, carbed beer can be fined.

Thanks for the good info.

Will it have a significant effect if I add the gelatin and then chill? Or should I chill the beer and then add it?

Thanks.

I think it works better to get it cold first, but have heard both... so??? Play with it and see what works best for you? Just be sure to handle it right, there are numerous threads on the topic. It's quite simple.
