question about getting beer gas in milwaukee

hi everyone, i was just wonder if anyone in the milwaukee area knew where to buy beer gas. i was just wondering because i like guinness, and i was thinking about brewing some stouts that were like guinness. thanks in advance.

Kidding. If you're refering to a Co2 system, you can do plenty of searches in the bottling and kegging forum here. If you want a stout-specific setup, you'll need an additional tank for nitrogen. Lots of info here.

j/k So, when you say beer gas are you looking for Nitrogen for the stout? I haven't used it, but a friend of my gets his N2 from a paintball supply place.

If it's CO2 you're looking for, try your LHBS or a welding supply place.

Otto's does CO2, I don't know if they do nitrous. Otherwise Fox Welding in Mequon will probably do it.

I suspect the OP is talking about the 75% N2 / 25% CO2 blend known as "Beer Gas", not CO2. (See: https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f35/what-about-guinness-133649/ )

That said, I have no idea where to get it in Milwaukee. The best bet would be to call around to a couple of welding supply shops. Some might be willing to mix it for you, some won't... one might even be willing to order it for you. Also, a local brewhouse that serves a nitro stout might be able to point you in a good direction.

Nitrous is not the same as Nitrogen, or Nitrogen/CO2 mix known as beer gas.

That being said, you can get the mix at AirGas.
