Troeg's is a great company. Their nugget nectar is so delicious I just want to drink it all day, even at work! Too bad it's a seasonal and they run out of it so quick because everybody loves it.

To me this beer has an amazing hop flavor, yet it doesn't knock you out. It is subtle unlike many other hoppy beers yet so smooth and delicious.

I would like to see someone attempt to make a clone of this. And then give me the recipe haha.

Thank you sir, I may try brewing this beer this weekend.

Any idea what the mash schedule was? Single infusion 60 min rest @ 152F sound about right?

I made something along the lines of NN, here's mine:

7.00 lb Pilsner (2 Row) UK (1.0 SRM) Grain 47.3 %
3.00 lb Munich Malt (9.0 SRM) Grain 20.3 %
3.00 lb Vienna Malt (3.5 SRM) Grain 20.3 %
1.50 lb Pale Malt, Maris Otter (3.0 SRM) Grain 10.1 %
0.25 lb Caramel/Crystal Malt - 80L (80.0 SRM) Grain 1.7 %
0.04 lb Roasted Barley (300.0 SRM) Grain 0.3 %

0.75 oz Nugget [13.00%] (60 min) Hops 29.8 IBU
0.50 oz Nugget [13.00%] (20 min) Hops 12.0 IBU
0.50 oz Palisade [8.00%] (20 min) Hops 7.4 IBU
1.00 oz Nugget [13.00%] (10 min) Hops 14.4 IBU
1.00 oz Amarillo Gold [8.50%] (10 min) Hops 9.4 IBU
1.00 oz Palisade [8.00%] (10 min) Hops 8.9 IBU
0.50 oz Amarillo Gold [8.50%] (20 min) Hops 7.9 IBU
1.50 oz Nugget [13.00%] (0 min) Hops
-
2.00 oz Nugget [13.00%] (Dry Hop 3 days) Hops -

1 Pkgs S05 Yeast-Ale

The hops are a bit different, I basically used what I had. Came out pretty tasty, I like the hop combo. Color is right on.

I mashed at 154, FG was 1.014.

I was a little less impressed with the commercial beer this year as opposed to last year.

Am I reading that correctly? 1/25th lb of roasted barley? That's only like 2/3 an oz... is that right? I assume that's just to darken the color a smidge?

Yup, just a smidge.

I'm pretty sure the recipe I used is a mashup of various grain bills I found around HBT.

Without revealing enough information that my employer could sue me, this recipe is closer :)

Swap the roast for chocolate- gives a great reddish color. That hop bill needs some Simcoe and Columbus, too. Also Simcoe and Columbus in the dry-hops. Everything else is pretty close.

Yeah I know the hops are different, I was going for more of a lighter fruitier character plus I just had a lot of palisade and amarillo. I basically subbed them for Simcoe and Colombus, just like you said.

My recipe is a Nugget Nectar tribute, not a clone :p
