I've really been enjoying my special bitter: it's easy drinking and a beautiful clear copper color.
Last night, I poured one and noticed it had salad floating around in it: surprisingly large green flecks of trub. This was not terribly appetizing. (Which did not stop me from drinking it, of course.)
My son helped me bottle that batch: I'm guessing this must have been the last bottle filled. I gave him very specific instructions about stopping if he saw such gunk in the bottling tip at any point, but we all know how well teenagers follow instructions...
I'm thinking I may start specifically labelling the last six or so bottles of every batch to make sure they never get given as gifts or such: that'd be kindof embarassing if someone other than me had gotten that bottle.
