Guys & was wondering how long you can keep crushed grain around without any adverse effects? This is of course presuming it's kept in a airtight & dry container. I keep mine in a 5 gallon bucket with the lid snapped on. I sometimes pick up my grain and grind it at my LHBS and don't end up using it for a few weeks.

The less oxygen they're exposed to the better. A vacuum sealed bag is good, a bucket with a very tight lid is ok, a paper bag is poor, generally. With grains, you'll not see the deterioration to anywhere near the effect hops see.

I've brewed with crushed grains as old as the other poster here and hit my gravities and had no weird flavors too. Grains are much much more forgiving than hops.
