Thanks for the head up - seems it might just be cheaper to try the Pliney the elder kit vs doing a swap. - Nevertheless I am saving 2 hopslams, and I also have access to zombie and gumball head.
I bought caps for twistys. I use a bench capper and have not had a problem yet. I use twistys for my give aways that i would most likley get the bottle back.
Google bottle waxing, you should find an article where a guy used crayons and glue sticks. I don't remember ratios off the top of my head, but i tried it and it worked great
I hate bottling. I keg 3 out of every 4 beers. I leave bottling for the beers that need to mature, but i generally go from boil to drinking from keg in about 3 weeks. Mostly ipas here, cheers.
I fill the pot with luke warm water. Toss the grains in, in a bag of course. Bring up to 155/160 put the lid on and wrap it in a towel to keep temp (flame out). At this time i go fire the banjo burner outside and my 5 gallons are at boil in 30 min. I then add the extract from steeping...
You might be traveling to F. Wayne or Indy to pick up some 3F's Brew - their website has locations where it sells their products http://www.3floyds.com/location/
Just caught a few videos on it - seems that it is twist cap - I would think that a "PREMIUM" Bud Light would at least have some class with a pop off top
+1k on wort chiller...
I used to do the ice baths (messy, pita, time consuming, and loud (do most of my brewing at night while the kiddies are sleeping))
Went from, cooling 3 gal from 25 min to literally 5 min at the most
i use dish washer on high heat and heat dry (no detergent!). This should get all the unseen nasties... but you still need to have star-san contact on the inside of that bottle for good sanitation. Dont forget to soak your bottle caps as well
Just take good care of, your turn around on that used equipment should bring you most if not all your money...
I love brewing and I stictly keg.... LOVE IT. I hopped into kegging before all grain. I am mostly satisfied with partial mash and extract brewing.
