Recapping Twist-off Bottles with Pry-off Taps

IF you have a bench capper, you could give it a go. If you have one of the wing cappers, I wouldn't do it. Also, check to make sure the bottles you have are thick enough glass. It's been posted before about twisties having thinner rims.

Personnally, if you were given the bottles, and you have enough to otherwise bottle your batch (or time to get more pop top bottles) I would simply send them to the recycle center.
 
I bought caps for twistys. I use a bench capper and have not had a problem yet. I use twistys for my give aways that i would most likley get the bottle back.
 
I don't do it regularly, but in the past I have had to cap twist off bottles. The capper doesn't want to release after the press, but the bottles sealed without issue. I am using a wing type capper.
