    Coopers Wheat to Dunkelweizen/Dark Wheat

Hi guys, So I just recently tried and Dunkelweizen and really enjoyed it. I love Hefes in the summer and thought I'd try to make a darker version for the winter months. Anyone have a recipe I could try to make a Coopers Wheat close to this style? I do have around 2lbs of Dark DME, 1lb of...

I got some freebies recently and need advice

Here is what I think I'll do. I've already smacked the 2 yeast packs from Sept 2012 (both are "2035 American Lager") gonna see if they puff up at all over the next couple of days. I plan of making a 1L starter with DME, then stepping up to a 3-4L starter after that if they are still viable...

    Brewery names--what's your story?

I call mine "Drunk Crossing Brewery". My neighbours across the street from us have a basement bar (we are on a single level house with no bar) and they often open it up for us and our friends. I said I'll be drunk crossing the street to visit, and the rest is history.

New post a picture of your pint

Hi guys, sitting on the deck the other day and figured I'd snap a quick photo. This is one of my first brews. It was just a simple Cooper's Draught kit, made with 500g of Light DME and 500g of Dextrose. Im pretty happy with everything

    Using Recently Washed Yeast

Glad I seen this thread. I just washed yeast for the first time today from a friends "Brewhouse Stout" kit. It was a WYeast 1028 London Ale. I washed it and made up 3 small mason jars (250ml). They haven't completely settled out yet, but I expect to have about 90-100mL of yeast. I plan on doing...

Mini Fridge Kegerator conversion - Canada

I'm in the exact same situation. I think I have it narrowed down between the Whirlpool from Canadian Tire or the Danby DAR440 from Home Depot.

    Help with Cooper's Dark Ale

So I decided to keep it simple. I ended up going with the Muntons Beer Enhancer (50% DME - 50% Dextrose). The OG was 1.040 - 1.042 range. What should the FG range be? I'm guessing around 1.01? That would give me about 4.2% ish right? then about another 0.2-0.5% when primed. Thanks, if I like...

    Help with Cooper's Dark Ale

Hi guys. I am about to make a Cooper's Dark Ale in the next week or two. I'm just looking for some advice as to get the best beer with the limited supplies my brewshops have around here. Splitting a Brewhouse kit???

I'm fully aware that I should lager it. I really wish I could. Limited space and $$ keeps me stuck to just the plain old instructions included. I hope to eventually learn more and expand beyond "kit instructions". I'm happy with beer that it puts out with the Coopers yeast, so I look forward...

    Splitting a Brewhouse kit???

Great thanks a lot guys! Also, any tips on getting better carbonation? I've only been making the Brewhouse kits so far, and I just use the included Dextrose. I am using the 500mL brown PET bottles and fill them just into the neck and squeeze the air out and cap. Would trying something like...

    Splitting a Brewhouse kit???

Hi all, I recently purchase "The Brew House - American Premium Lager". This kit comes with Coopers yeast. I have a 'Nottingham' yeast as well. I was planning on splitting the batch into 2 primaries and using both yeasts, just to see if there is much difference as I don't have local access to...

Brewhouse Kits - looking for opinions and reviews. . .

Hi guys. This will be the first time making beer for me. I have The Brewhouse Canadian Light Lager. The only primary fermenter I have is about 30L. Since this is my first kit, I want to make it the full 23L. I know there can be major overflow. Would it be ok to just add the 15L wort and once the...
