    Serving Wedding Brew

I'd suggest hiring a bartender who can properly pour your brew (it shouldn't cost you that much—they work mostly on tips), OR You're in Milwaukee? Do you have a brew club? Or friends who homebrew/keg? If it's for your wedding you might be able to get folks to loan you their kegs for the...

    Avoiding carbonation creep ???

the fact that some brews become more carbonated than others leads me to believe it has to do with either sanitation (but the beer would likely taste slightly off) or that your priming sugar might not be evenly distributed through your bottles. When you're racking into a bottling bucket that has...

Session Pale Ale - Extract Recipe

I like to use carapils in almost all my beers. It helps with head retention and mouthfeel. I think a good head on an IPA or pale ale helps to make the aroma more appreciable, and moderate mouthfeel can help prevent a session IPA from tasting too "thin"

Session Pale Ale - Extract Recipe

My preference with a recipe like this is would be to: Eliminate the crystal 120. I know where you're coming from with this: I brewed a session IPA with a mix of 40/120 and it just ended being a bit too dark for my taste. Not a huge deal, but I'd use the lighter Munich I and increase the amount...

    mosaic and el dorado ipa

My advice would be to make sure you err on the dry side and avoid too much residual sugar. IME mosaic has a tendency to give an impression of sweetness that needs to be balanced by an overall drier beer. No idea about using mango though—never made a fruit beer before.

getting the most attenuation from my yeast

You could also consider increasing the length of your mash to 90 minutes if you decide to stick with single infusion.

Any opinions about homebrew shops in Boston? I'll be living pretty close to Homebrew Emporium.

    IPA Pickles?!?

This is my second time trying the Sea Hag recipe, and it's just...awful. Waaayyyyy too sour—the vinegar is overwhelmingly strong, I almost choked on this crap. I did a batch with apple cider vinegar and a batch with malt vinegar. I preferred the apple cider, but both batches were inedible...

Flameout vs dry hop or both

http://byo.com/component/k2/item/2808-hop-stands The section of this article entitled "Dry Hop Considerations" addresses your question and reaffirms the consensus: both.

Cool story bro? Am I doing it right? Cape Brewing, is that the full name? When did you start? Stop talking about me like I'm not here! Also I can probably be worse than anyone.

The Dysfunctional-Palooza Obnoxious Masshole BS Thread

This reminds me of a time when I was about 5 or younger, and my horrible parents had me seated in the middle of the living room playing with some toys or whatever while they watched some kind of NSFW movie, I assume it fell into the "late night comedy" category. Anyway, one of the...

    Buying Kits Online

I'd give Northern Brewer a shot at least once. They have some interesting proprietary ingredients like Maris Otter Malt Syrup that makes it a little bit more interesting to brew with extract. Austin Homebrew Supply has a big selection of clone kits to brew from if that's the kind of thing...

    Fruitiest ale yeast?

I'm really enjoying 1272 right now for all my IPAs, pale ales, etc. Fruitiness is pretty mild fermented in the mid 60's, but still detectable.
