    Sweeting and botteling

I am fixing to bottle my first batch of cider ever. One has peaches that was added to the secondary and the other is just apple juice. For botteling and sweeting do I just add my frozen juice concentrate and bottle or do I need to add priming sugar as well?

3 weeks in. 2 weeks in primary and 1 week in secondary. Secondary was spilt into 2 one gallon glass jugs. Today my wife added peaches to one of the glass jugs. Hoping it turns out. Other is very clear and ready to backsweeten and bottle.

    Food grade buckets

I'm just getting started and thought the exact same thing. Cheap and cost effective. Allows me to learn and keep batches going. With all the equipment I've got I have less than 50 dollars invested and haven't had a bad batch yet. I still have a few things to invest in like a hydrometer and stuff...

    Food grade buckets

For me it was a cheap way to get buckets as the bakery I get them from has 1 gallon all the way up to 5 gallons and for a dollar each. I can have 4 or 5 batches going that way. Less money on fermentors means more money on beer and cider.

    Food grade buckets

I plan on using them for batches of cider and maybe small batches of beer. I have two lbk's also. So it gives me 7 potential fermentors

    Food grade buckets

I was thinking I could do 4 gallons in them

    Food grade buckets

My wife just picked up 5 five gallon food grade buckets from a baker to use as fermentors. Does anyone else use these? The lid I bought from my lhbs doesn't fit. How did you fix your lids for an air lock?

Mr Beer - Read all about it and ask questions

I opened my first bottle of my classic American light, first brew ever. Spent two weeks in fermentor and two weeks bottle conditioning. With all the problems I had with my lbk leaking, my beer turned out tasting like a draft domestic in comparison. I used two carb drops per instructions for the...

    Newbie question

Cracked open the first bottle tonight. Used two carb drops per instructions and it's a little over carbonated. Beer is clear and see through. Taste like a domestic. Goes down smooth.

    Cider With Blackberries

I have a cider in the fermentor now that I just kind of threw together for an expire ment but will definitely be trying this recipe with blackberries and blueberries.

    First go at Cider

I was going to leave it in the fermentor for two more weeks then bottle and age for at least 3 weeks before opening the first one

    First go at Cider

After a week in fermentor my cider has a very strong and sharp alcohol smell with no apple aroma at all. Should I throw it out?
  19. C

    First go at Cider

I started my cider on 8-6. It has been fermenting between 68-72 degrees until today when I was able to move it to a cooler place in my house. Will this cooler temp affect my cider after 3 days at higher Temps?

Mr. Beer shiver me timbers kit

I know a five gallon bucket will only do 4 gallons but at this time it's sufficient for us.
