    Graff (Malty, slightly hopped cider)

Just as an FYI, I had brewed another batch of graff last September, I still have 2 gallons or so in a keg and I tasted it yesterday. It has aged quite well! Still very drinkable and a nice apple aroma.

Converting a jockey box from sankey to ball lock.

I was given a 2 tap jockey box with Perlick faucets, plate chiller, and two sankey connectors. Im wanting to change it out to ball lock. My only question is that the existing tubing is 7/16" id, should I replace the tubing or adapt the ball lock connectors to fit the existing tubing? Im not sure...

Bunging the fermentation vessel to avoid oxidation during cold crashing

If your vessel will hold pressure, rig a bung with a gas port and hook it up to co2. If you kept it at even a 1/4 lb of positive pressure, there would be no worry of oxygen.

    Smoking mountain lion meat???

I would think cat would be fairly lean meat, perhaps brining before smoking?

I went for it...with the peanut butter

I used pb2 in a chocolate peanut butter stout and it tasted quite good. If I brew it again I’ll go with approximately 25% more as the flavor was good, just subtle.

    DIY double coil chiller

Soldering isn’t hard, it just takes patience. Make sure your joints are cleaned properly, fluxed, and that you let the joint heat properly before you add the solder. It should flow right into the joint.

Bottling or Keg System - When Do You Realize It's Time For An Upgrade?

I lucked into a kegerator with kegs, 20lb co2 tank, and some other goodies for 200 on CL when I first started brewing. I’ve bottled one batch I made with/for a friend but that’s it. No regrets here.

Northern Brewer/Ab InBev - What's the prognosis 1 year on?

I shop at the Milwaukee store, no complaints.

Unreasonable Sense of Entitlement. The scourge of modern society.

My wife and I are self employed as dog groomers. Just yesterday I needed to reschedule some dogs for the wife as she was VERY ill and needed to rest. 9out of the 10 were fine with it, but the one kept on about how this was unprofessional and was very inconvenient for her..........

    Don't Do That.

    Ouch!!

LP Burner in the garage for winter brewing....

I brew in my basement with LP. I vent the steam out a window using an exhaust hood and fan and I haven’t had any issues. The only thing I don’t do is keep the LP tank in the basement when I’m not using it. Safety and precautions are a necessity, of course, but my CO meter has never registered...

    Distilling to get non-alcoholic beer?

The alcohol distilling process is not legal in this Country.....period. Bear this in mind as you go forward.

Kegging - Crazy Foam / Flow - Tried Longer Beer Line Already

It sounds simplistic, but are you opening the picnic tap all the way when you squeeze it? Mine will foam up if you squeeze too slowly.

    Anyone have problems with clogs?

I pulled the dip tubes from my kegs, cut 1/2” off, deburred, and reinstalled. No clogs, trub, gunk, etc since.

    New Kegerator Set up....leak question

If you are purging the headspace with co2 then you should get adequate pressure to seal. Keg lube is never a bad idea though.

My first ever Home Brew! Cheers all!

Congratulations! One bit of advice, don’t say it was JUST an extract beer......you have made a good beer and that’s the only important part!

The cost of craft beer, holy cow that's pricey.

It’s like anything, supply and demand. So long as people will pay $28 for a bottle of beer they will continue to ask it.

Refractometer reading is way off compared to hydrometer. What am I missing?

I don’t trust my refractometer. I have calibrated it with distilled water and it holds its zeroed setting well, but my measurement on a stout the other day was 1.074 versus my 60degree calibrated hydrometer reading of 1.092. I don’t consider my hydrometer samples to be unacceptable losses from...
