    Glycol got in beer

Hahah and the same people complaining about the 'garbage weld' and 'trash manufacturer' are out there brewing in the aluminum kettle they've had for 30 years and plastic buckets. Stainless envy.

    Stock pot burners

I'm confused as well. You're saying these offer the same amount of heat output as the Blichmann but cost 3 times more. And why would you buy this over the Blichmann?? lol

using silicone tubing for makeshift herms set up?

Isn't the only point of insulated Ss mash tun to hold temps throughout the mash? If that's not the case I would contact them and ask for a return. that thing ain't cheap!

    Conical Cooling Conundrum (Spike CF10)

I'm just going to say lol because I'm done telling you what others that do this for a living told me and have you Google a random link to try and prove 'me' wrong.

    Conical Cooling Conundrum (Spike CF10)

I can't comment on the system getting down to 32F as I've never tried. I've had my conical in a cold garage and inside my warm house; I've never had an issue. I'm going off of what multiple professional brewers have told me they cold crash at. You're try to crash below what is recommended which...

    Conical Cooling Conundrum (Spike CF10)

For the record my CF10 works perfectly fine with 5g batches. I cold crash to 38F. IMO 32F is excessive and the 'issue' is user based.

    Conical Cooling Conundrum (Spike CF10)

Why are you trying to crash to 32F? All the commercial brewers I've talked to have said 35-38F. I do mostly 5g batches in my CF10 and have had 0 issues crashing to 38F.

new eBrewing setup, eBIAB or eHerms?

Like many here I would love to go pro someday. Using a three vessel system is better training than a BIAB system.

    Polishing Kettle Internals

Reason I went with SPIKE kettles. They are a bit more expensive but far better quality.

    SS Brewtech 14 gallon Unitank

Seems like their quality has really been slipping. This is about the 3rd QC issue I've seen this week.

new eBrewing setup, eBIAB or eHerms?

For the most realistic brewing experience I say HERMS. BIAB is nice and easy but doesn't emulate the pros. I like that aspect when I brew.

need a fermenting vessle freezer or fridge?

Pick up a fridge or one of the glass front coolers from Craigslist. Use an Inkbird or similar temp controller and you'll be good to go!

    Spike etching is off

Out of curiosity I filled my SS kettle up with .25gal of water. Below are the results. It really makes me scratch my head to what the heck you guys are talking about. The depth of the water is maybe a 1/8" deep and this is only a 10gal kettle. How would this little amount in any way ever affect...

    12v pumps

The nice thing about DC pumps is they usually have a lot more power than a similarly sized AC pump.

Illinois Looking for other homebrewers in Chicago

I'd be interested! I'm not on here much but I'll check out the links above.

    Spike etching is off

You weigh your water by gram before filling your tanks!? And you're complaining about a couple percent difference given the fact water expands/contracts based on temp!? haha I don't think the saying 'relax, have a homebrew' has ever been more relevant.
