How many BIABers use FWH & Hop-back?

I do FWH in middle of mash. I take the bag off the rim of my kettle temporarily and toss the hops right in the wort. I put the bag back around the rim for the remainder of the mash. That way when I pull my bag the hops stays behind. Sometimes I throw some hops in with the malt in the bag not...

    Hop combos

This may sound dumb to most, but maybe instead of a single hopped pale ale. You do a pale with a little of every hop you got. Hop census pale. I've had a few or two already just throwing an idea out there.

Most annoying response when you tell someone you're a homebrewer?

    Another Recipe Cry For Help!

If it was me I take the wheat and crystal malts out and use some Amber malt. Also if it was me id drop the chocolate malt by 8 ozs or take it out completely. Although my opinions biased I'm not a fan of chocolate malt. Its just not my thing.

    Maris Otter

Marris otter is my go to base malt. My house pale ale uses nothing but marris otter and domestic 2-row 50-50. UKEKG and cascade. I call it the "American Revolutionary Pale Ale" perfect mix of British and American pale ales. I use S-04, and slightly alkaline water from a natural NH spring.I cant...

What do you consider the ultimate bottling set up

I just use a bottling wand at the end of my auto siphon. It has its problems though. For instance if you don't have a little pressure down on the bottling wand when you pump the siphon, the siphon pressurizes and cracks itself. My next brew investment will be a bottling bucket so I don't keep...

    Hothead ale yeast?

    Brown Ale.....

My last batch was supposed to be a brown ale. It turned out more like a stout. But it was a damn good stout. Next time I'm taking the black patent out completely.

    Wheat beer recipe review

Sounds good, just wonder what "hardware store" you got your brew supplies from. Lol I'm sure that was a typo.

Worst Commercial Beer You've Ever Had?

Super hoppy hop bombs... Not a fan, also not a fan of anything Anheuser Busch.

Is Guinness the most overrated beer...ever?

I love Guinness' extra stout. I love the toasty malty character to it, its a nice break from all the tongue numbing hop bombs that are literally everywhere.

    Squeezing the Bag

I'm guilty of squeezing the bag on occasions. Only after I sparge though.
