    SNPA to Torpedo

I have a recipe that I found someplace (probably here on HBT) some time ago: Torpedo Extra IPA Clone 5 gallons OG = 1.070 FG = 1.018 IBU = 70 SRM = 11 ABV = 7.2% Ingredients: 14 lbs pale malt 11 oz caramel malt (60L) 1.2 oz of 14% AA Magnum (60 mins) 1.0 oz Magnum (5 mins) 1.0 oz...

    Show me your Tap Towers

Have you thought about going with a coffin box? https://www.homebrewtalk.com/showthread.php?t=256871 I'm still in the designing stage, but plan on doing a triangular tower. Basically an upside-down pyramid, but with only two taps, based around some of the coffin box type designs.

Transferring from commercial keg to corny?

I don't know, but I would guess that the only problem is the oxygen getting into the beer (not counting cramps from the thousands of times you'll have to pump the keg to get all the beer out). I suppose if you drink the beer fast enough you shouldn't have problems with it oxygenating. Also...

Friendly advice is killing my move to all-grain (advice on setup please)!

Sorry I haven't read all 4 pages of this thread but for BIAB you usually skip the MLT and just use a single kettle almost twice your batch size. I frequently do 6-7 gallon APA's and IPA's in a 10 gallon pot. You mash in the pot, pull the bag of grains and fire up the burner to bring it to a...

Leaking keg, I think it may not be repairable

I had a similar leak in a corney. I tried new poppet, oring on the diptube, new diptube. Finally, I found a oring in my scuba stuff that fits on the base just below the threaded part of the nipple and inside the post and that did it. It's been fine now for three fills.

    "Daisy Chained" Kegs?

Wouldn't you get foaming in the successive kegs as beer pours in the little gas in dip tube and free falls into the rest of the keg? Would replacing the gas in diptubes with liquid diptubes make any difference?

    Demi champagne bottles?

I use a standard emily capper with a 29mm bell on it or a hammer capper to drive plastic champagne "corks" in.

    LED computer fan in keezer

That light will not be an issue - wrong wavelength and too weak. But if you'll sleep better, use some electrical tape to cover up the leds. The heat produced by a handful of LEDs will be orders of magnitude lower than the cooling ability of a freezer.

    Controlling ferm temps

If you've got room for all of that or are considering a son of a fermentation chamber, consider a minibar fridge hooked up to a STC-1000. I use a fridge with a STC1000 and a reptile heating plate as heat source. Before the fridge I used a water bath with aquarium heater and it worked better in...

    How to lower packaging expenses?

OP states that the ingredients are 6% of the cost so I figure the other 82% is the cost of all the equipment (kettle, mash tun, burner, etc). Either way, bottling 30 gallons in 330ml bottles means cleaning, sanitizing, priming, filling and capping just under 350 bottles. You'd have to...

Conversion from 1 to 2 taps

I'm with you in the kid department with a 2 year old and a 5 month old and I get how brewing time & money are tight. I'm in the process of building a kegerator and am going with single body reg and two faucets. 1. Dual body reg will only be useful if you want to run two kegs at different...

29mm Crown caps + Hammer capper

You'd have to find one specifically for the 29 mm caps and I don't know if such a beast exists. I have a standard one that works on the 26 but does not on the 29. It does however do a great job driving the plastic champagne corks into champagne bottles.

10L Sanke vs 2.5 Gallon Ball Lock

Keep in mind that the sankeys use a sanke tap. If you don't already have them, then add on another $30-50 for each keg you want to have on tap which might make the price difference moot. I've never seen these mini sankeys before but am very interested. Got a link to the shop that sells them?

another danby 4.4 conversion , need opinion.

It's not that it'll look funny so much as that it'll be awkward to pour a beer with the faucets so low to the ground unless you raise the whole kegerator off the ground. OTOH if you're under 4 feet tall or don't want to get off the couch it might be perfect.

Should the CO2 tank valve be opened all the way?

I always thought the practice was all the way open, then back off 1/4 turn. That keeps the valve open plus it gives you some tactile feedback when you grab the valve to check if it's open or not. I've heard of people going to open a valve and thinking it's stuck shut when it was already all the...

    What's in your fermenter(s)?

Just pitched yesterday to my Smug SOB, a session version of CYBI's Arrogant Bastard clone (1.054 OG and 70IBU).
