    liquid yeast Q's

You'll be fine. Its unlikely the yeast froze or got too warm. Even being December its not that cold in transit where I'd worry about it.

    Gelatin finings

You can use gelatin without cold crashing. It will just clear slower and maybe not as completely. There's no need to boil the water (I never have). Here's how I do it for a 5 gallon batch. Add 1/2 cup cool water to a sanitized microwave safe cup/bowl/whatever. Sprinkle 1/2 tbsp of gelatin...

I am trying to decide between John Palmer's and Ray Daniels' book...can anyone help?

Buy both, they are great books. The books are about different aspects of brewing. Designing Great Beers is for helping you to come up with your own beer recipes and How to Brew is about the process of brewing. I like How to Brew over The Complete Joy of Homebrewing myself. I'm always referencing it.

    Did I pitch wrong? 2 Q's

1 - No you didn't pitch wrong. Dry yeast does not need a starter. I would just dump the whole package in. Over pitching does not hurt anything but under pitching can. 2 - You're looking at the wrong scale on the hydrometer. You want to take the number from the "Sp.Gr." (Specific Gravity) scale...

    Graff (Malty, slightly hopped cider)

Got my first taste today. Quite good! This batch can only improve with time. Its been in the bottle for about 3 weeks and in the fridge for a couple days. The only changes I made to the OP's recipe was to sub the 60L for equal parts 120L and honey malt (4oz each). I also used Saaz (3.4% AA)...

    spooky carbination

How did you mix in your priming sugar? I've had similar results from letting the priming sugar mix just by siphoning beer on top without stirring. More sugar solution remained in the bottom of the bucket so the first few bottles drawn were over carbed. Giving the bottling bucket a short...

    Sanitizing bottles...

People make this way more complicated than need be. I clean my bottles after pouring from them (hot water + bottle brush and rinse a couple times), drain in my dish rack and store in cardboard boxes. Come bottling day I give them a short dip in Star San (letting an ounce or so into the bottle)...

What have you built with the HD copper tubing?

Here's mine. I got a second 50 ft length after I built this one just because it was so cheap.

Top of neck on the inside of mr beer bottle sweating

I'd be very careful. That is a sure sign of a bottle bomb. Very, very carefully move it to the coldest part of the refrigerator (it could blow off your hand if disturbed) and leave it to cool off for a week. I'd go the extra step and surround it with a couple packages of frozen peas to contain...
