What to do with them after the hydro expires? I've got two that I used as a backup to my 5lbder and to force carb with but they have expired. Is there any use for them? I assume getting them re-hydroed wouldn't be cost effective.
I planted a couple ryzomes last year and they didn't do much. This year one of them seems to be doing fine, even has some clusters on it, however the clusters are not tight and compact, will they tighten up as the summer goes on?
Fermented at 55deg with whitelabs America lager yeast. I plan on bringing temp up to 70 deg for a few days before I drop down to lagering temps. I plan to transfer from my primary to a keg then drop the temp down low. Should I rack off of the yeast cake to the keg, or bring it all over while...
I needed an American lager and the only think the LHBS had was one package of Whitelabs Pure Pitch. Got home to make a starter and realized the born on date was Jan 10 2016, but still within the use by date. Plugged the numbers into brewers friend starter calculator and it stated the yeast was...
About to bust my dry hopp cherry with Yoopers House Pale Ale. Been in primary 2 weeks, should I transfer to secondary and add hop bag, or can I just toss it in the same primary bucket. I hate moving beer around if I dont have too.
I have just recently been messing with water adjustments. I have been adding minnerals to my mash water to match a profile but havnt been doing anything to my sparge water. I understand that tannin extraction is a result of a ph over 6.0 and mash temp over 170. I was messing with brewnwater...
Brewing Yoopers House Pale Ale tommorrow, how do these water additions look for an APA? Brewers friend predicting a 5.4 Mash PH. All salts added to mash water only.
I mash in a round cooler, at the end of the mash I drain, then batch sparge with my sparge water calculated to bring grain bed up to 168ish. Would/could I bennifit my process by adding boiling water to the initial mash with a rest to bring up to 168ish before I drain? The reason I want to use...
I use brewers friend to manage and predict my brews, but I've been consistently off on my gravity readings. I tend to be a couple of points high on my pre boil reading, but then I tend to be a point or two low on my final reading as compared to what brewers friend predicts. Any suggestions as...
I've made this Kolsch recipe several times, I believe its Munchers Crisper Kolsche recipe, but now I want to change it and get a big honey flavor out of it. What do you think? Too much honey malt?

Not getting any action in the science section so figured Id try it here.
Im trying to understand the water chemistry function in Brewers Friend so I did a test run with Munchers Crème of Three Crop. Below is my current water profile, and my target was Balanced Profile. Does this look...
Im trying to understand the water chemistry function in Brewers Friend so I did a test run with Munchers Crème of Three Crop. Below is my current water profile, and my target was Balanced Profile. Does this look correct? Also I'm a little confused in the salt additions section. Are the...
I use brewers friend to manage my brew days and just recently started yeast starters. But which profile should I use in brewers friend yeast calculator. I mainly do ales and there are 6 different options. My next brew is a light ale 1.056 expected OG using S05. Using the middle of the road...
I got two packs of Kolche wyeast from my LBH to make a 1.047 Kolsche. The dates are April and July. Brewers friend gives me 0% on both smack packs, but I dont believe it. Do you think a 1.5L starter using both packs will be enough for the Kolsche?
