    To Dry hop or not to Dry hop

    I think if you were to NOT dry hop you would be disappointed. I just brewed a hoppy amber with simcoe/cascade and the fermenting aroma was amazing-the aroma of the beer has diminished considerably. Use the same hops... It's gonna be good.

    Citrus-y IPA... hop pairing!

    I brew an IPA with Amarillo/cascade and it is a great citrus combination. Be sure to load the hops on the back end also-go with your bittering addition (that could be nugget) and wait til about the 10 minute mark and add your flavor/aromas up to and including flameout.

    I tried to do it on the stove but the burner wouldn't get the 7 gallons boiling, and I couldn't really get my keggle to fit on the stove. It was 1 am, so I didn't really have any options. The brew day was sort of a disaster!

    It was all grain. In doing some reading I think the biggest thing will be dms and issues not really related to hops. I guess I'll find out! Still a bummer though, as I brew about once a month, feels like a wasted brew day.

    Didnt rinse pbw before sanitizing

    Hey all, just bottled last night and after cleaning all the bottles with pbw I didn't rinse it before sanitizing with star San. Although that's not what you want to do, will it be alright? Will the star San take care of it? Thanks.

    So the sediment is the good stuff? I thought the settled "trub" (if you will) was the less viable yeasties and the good stuff was still suspended in the liquid.

    Hey noob question. I boiled water in my erlenmeyer and then took it off the boil and put my DME in. Extract got all clumpy so I swirled and shook it to fully dissolve. Will there be any oxidation issues per oxidizing hot wort? I did boil it again after dissolving. That damn DME gets so sticky.
